Luminocity Invitation for MCA Denver

For MCA Denver’s 2017 Luminocity Gala, celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the Delgany Street building designed by architect David Adjaye, I designed a sculptural invitation that embodied the themes of light, structure, and contemporary art.

The concept played on the dual meaning of “Luminocity,” merging luminosity and city. The invitation was engineered as a complex three-spine fold, allowing the word to reveal itself through shadow and dimension as the piece is opened. Subtle black-on-black typography keeps the exterior minimal and architectural, while rich copper and violet paper inside reflect and absorb light, creating a naturally luminous interior experience.

The result is a tactile, light-responsive object that echoes the building’s bold geometry and the museum’s contemporary spirit.
